Miguel has kept it relatively low-key this year, only offering up his talents on a few random projects: the latest soundtrack of HBO’s Girls; Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road reissue; and Jessie Ware’s new song “Kind Of…Sometimes…Maybe”. Perhaps his absence from the limelight means new music is finally on the way in the form of the long-awaited follow-up to 2012’s Kaleidoscope Dream? A new Instagram post from the Casanova of R&B seems to indicate so.
As Rap-Up points out, this afternoon Miguel previewed a new song tentatively titled “Coffee” via his Instagram account. A slinky, whispered number featuring electric guitar, the short clip sees the crooner doing what he does best: making sexiness sound utterly effortless. (The whole lying in bed half-naked with a guitar doesn’t hurt either.)
