“Love is in the backseat of my Cadillac … let me take you there,” Miguel seduces in the chorus of his brand new song, “Cadillac”. Taken from Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming musical drama series The Get Down, the track sees the always suave crooner tempting listeners over a jaunty arrangement that recalls the golden years of Motown funk and soul. Rich horn and chunky, wub wub synths also deliver additional textures, the latter elements a reminder that Miguel and Tame Impala may just be long-lost kindred spirits.

The Get Down, which follows a group of teenagers growing up in the Bronx in the ’70s, will premiere on Netflix on August 12th.
